Foundation project ideas

1- Asylum
Set in a mental asylum. About a scyzophrenic who kills his friend when he changes his personality but isnt aware of it. Based on true events, he wants the help of a specialist so he is aware of his changes, but this soon truns for the worst. Titles are a cross between "se7en" and the tv programme "jekyll"

2- Encore
Retired hitman gets hired for one last job in which he is sent to kill an infamous drugs baron who has conned the gang. The baron turns out to be his son. Titles have an italian score with a rock twang to it, and include trademark hitman connotations such as barcodes and sniper targets.

3- Duality
A man is working for two rival new york gangs, but then is asked by one gang to kill a member of the other which leads to him getting found out. Dramatic consequences. Titles have a drum-based rock song and the words mirror each other vertically and horizontally

4- Call the shots
Psychotic mass murderer locks love rival casino boss inside his casino and uses a series of bets and gambles to decide the fate of him and his family. Titles similar to casino royale but with a more thriller tone.

After coming up with these initial ideas, i have decided to produce 'Asylum'. I now have to produce a script for this, film the scenes, create the title sequence and then edit the film so it all fits together.

Filming

For our filimg, we will need permission to use certain locations, therefore we will need written permission in order for us to go ahead. Our filming will take place in the college grounds, mainly inside the main buildings of the college, an will need to be done, when the college is deserted and at night. This needs to be done in order for us to create our effect for the plot in our film, however locations may need to be changed if we are unable to film in certain areas.

We will be shooting the first few opening scenes, however this will only uncover one characters identity, leaving the other characters identity in suspense. We will incorporate our titles into our opening scenes, where this will include flash-backs aswell as the titles for casting and roles in the film. We will need a hand-held camera for some shots, but will also need the tri-pod for others.

Casting

In terms of casting, we are still waiting to allocate roles to our actors, however we will have two roles to allocate; the asylum and the victim. Once we have decided on which role suits our actors best, we will then look at our props and what will be needed.

Production

As i am working with a partner, we have decided that i shall be allocated the role of cameraperson, whilst my partner Luke will be the writer and director. We will both then edit our work together, to produce the finished item.
